For The Stoners

So the legalization of marijuana is a very common argument in the nation. Here in Texas I don't ever see it becoming legal, ever. I can see Texas removing itself from the U.S. and becoming its own sovereign nation before ever legalizing pot... or gay marriage... or anything else involving freedom. So this is more of a spill of wishful thinking instead of getting my hopes up.

Have you ever seen a drunk person? Like just completely plastered. I just typed into Google "shitfaced" and here you go... a fantastic picture of a completely sober guy just taking a nap. By completely sober I definitely mean totally wasted past the point of functioning. I probably didn't need to put in a picture because I'm sure we've all seen it, but it made me laugh.
If alcohol is legal to buy and sell, then weed should be too. There are so many more negatives to alcohol than positives. The positive, of course is HAVING AN AWESOME TIME. The negative would clearly be it makes a person violent, puts holes in ones liver, kills brain cells, and has an addictive nature hence... ding ding ding Alcoholics. There are also many reported deaths by alcohol poisoning.

On the contrary, there has not been one single reported death from smoking pot. Not one. It also does not kill brain cells. That has been proven to be a myth. It does not cause lung cancer like cigarettes. I'm not advocating everyone to become stoners but if alcohol is legal (especially those DAMN four locos) then why would weed ever not be?

It honestly makes no sense. My friend Joseph recently told me that the whole reason pot was ever really made illegal was because in the 1800s America wanted to discourage Mexican migrant farmers from finding work, or stealing jobs from whites. Funny how that worked out, eh?

Happy Tuesday!

  2. Yeah, same with alcohol. And texting. And sneezing at the wrong time.

  3. IMO, marijuana should be legalized for the revenue/taxation benefit. It'll never happen because of the nation's official stance with a "war" on drugs declaration 35 years ago. It was Nancy Reagan's cause as first lady. (Marijuana is not a drug!) Many progressive ideas are squelched because of the religious sect that has still too much influence. (Prime example: as you mentioned, gay marriage.) Pity.
