So I was running pretty late to class this morning. I did the typical "accidentally press the dismiss instead of the snooze button." Anyways I get outside to find my bike and race to my class... and sure enough my bike isn't where I left it. I check the other bike racks but I remember specifically where I put it last time, and some dickface stole it. So I'm just pissed.. I'm walking (not sure if I could even call it walking) to class all upset and just mad. Then, a kid rides past me on what I am 98% positive is my bike.
What I know about this kid: I always see him around smoking. He has unkept hair past his shoulders and the most important thing I know about him.... I have never seen his sorry ass riding that bike. If my memory serves right I've seen him on one of those trick bikes. But if he had the same bike as me I would remember....
So, I sprint after his ass and either I'm out of shape or he starts pedaling faster because I'm pretty sure I chased him for a at least an 800. I am shouting "HEY, HEY STOP" you would think he would get the hint but he doesn't so I just tackle him. Then I look at his bike lock and it's different than mine... of course. I would have moved on with my life if when I looked at his lock he hadn't said "See, I have this one." Almost like... "Haha you bitch I'm not a complete idiot."
The most upsetting part is why did he steal MY bike? The person who actually paid for it herself. The person who can't afford another one. Yeah, I'm having a pity party, I've earned it okay.
All I have to say is I'm going to be a prick and tell the police. But until that point he had better hope I don't see him because I might start a poke war with him.
How infuriating. A prick? For reporting a crime? I think not.

ReplyDeletemy friend gave the suggestion of putting your DL number etched onto the bottom of the lower bar on a new bike so if anything like that happens you can prove it is yours.
